We Need Your Help

More than 4,200 Canadians become infected with HIV every year and Huron County is not immune to this disease. An estimated 15,000 Canadians who are infected don't even know it and can pass on HIV through unprotected sex, sharing needles, tattooing, piercing or acupuncture with unsterilized needles.

HIV can also be passed from mother to child during pregnancy, birth, or through breastfeeding. In
Canada, about 25% of all new HIV infections occur in women. Young women now account for over 40% of all infections in people between 15 - 29 years old.

About Us

First and foremost, our promise to you is absolute confidentiality and respect for the privacy of each individual we support. We are well aware of the painful stigma attached with HIV / AIDS and are working hard at creating a climate which will allow people with HIV / AIDS to live openly and honestly without judgement.

We know it's a long road ahead but through education and distribution of information, we hope to influence attitudes, change behaviours, and help prevent the spread of this disease.
